Canada PR Eligibility
Before getting the chance for permanent residence, you have to be a holder of the permanent residence permit, also called the green card. There are different categories of people who can get the various s types of the immigrant visa.
Canada Express Entry
Canada Express entry is used to manage applications for permanent residence under the federal economic immigration programs such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Express Class. The Provincial Nominee Programs can also be used to nominate candidates for express entry in order to meet the local labor market needs. There are specific Ministerial Instructions that govern the application process.
There are two steps when applying for express entry. First, the potential candidates are required to complete an online profile where information about their skills, language ability, work experience, and education among others will be taken. The nominees for the different federal and provincial programs mentioned above will be included in the pool of candidates for Express Entry.
The second step includes ranking the various candidates using the Comprehensive Ranking System that uses the points earned by each candidate. The points are awarded using the information provided when filling the profile. An invitation to apply for permanent residence will be given to those candidates with the highest scores. After 12 months of staying in the pool, the candidates, if still eligible for Express Entry, can submit new profiles to be considered for the next applications.
